Harney & Sons Vanilla Comoro Tea Review

Tea Tin

This is kind of a random post but I wanted to share with you one of my favourite teas of the monent. Its the Vanilla Comoro tea from Harney & Sons Fine Teas and its a Defaffeinated Black Tea & Vanilla.

I love the packaging of this product, it comes in a really lovely tin so would make a great gift for any tea lover in your life.

This tea is delicious! Its just like having a regular black tea but it has a hint of vanilla to it so it adds a nice sweetness to the tea and I absolutely love it. Its decaf which is nice so I can have it before bed if I feel like something sweet without being kept awake all night.

Inside Tin

I get this tea from a website called iHerb and I have put the link below, this tea retails for $8.99 for 20 tea bags, its not cheap but I only have this every now and then as a treat so I dont mind and Iherb always has sales on. I buy alot of my teas amonst other things from this website, they sell more natural products and they have a great range of teas to choose from so if this one doesnt sound like its to your taste you will definetley be able to find something else on here for you.

My Holy Grail/Must Have Makeup Items

All Makeup

Hi Guys,

I wanted to do a post showing you my absolute Holy Grail makeup items from my collection. These are products that I just could not live without, stuff I use all the time and really love.

Eyeshadows in palettes

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows –

These are the best eye shadows I have ever tried! I love them so much I own every colour and I have a blog pot with swatches and a review on all of them if you want to check that out

I wont go into too much deatil given I have done an entire blog post on them but they are amazing quality for such a reasonable price. They are pigmented, smooth and easy to blend for around $6 each, what more can i say? Perfect!

Arbonne Lipstick

Arbonne Lipstick in Candy –

This is my all time favourite lipstick, which is something really huge because I have a ridiculous number of lipsticks and so many that I love. This one is just the perfect pink for me, so much so that I actually wore it on my wedding day.
It is beautifully pigmented and smooth and lasts for hours. It wears off evenly which is the main reason I love it so much. Will always needs to have this lipstick in my collection.

Art Deco Blush Open

Art Deco Blush Closed

Art Deco Bronzing Glow Blusher –

I got this blush off after seeing Shaaanxo (YouTube) have about it in a video one day and I’m so glad I picked it up, it’s stunning! It has three colours in the pan, a pink, peach and bronze section. When you swirl your brush around in all of them you get the most perfect mixture of all the colours. It has a slight sheen to the product and with the great mix of colours it provides the most beautiful natural pinky/peach colour that just looks stunning. It’s perfect for every day as it is such an easy, goes with everything kind of blush. It is limited edition but you may still be able to pick it up if you’re lucky.

Collection Concealer

Collection Lasting Perfection 16 Hour Wear Concealer in Light – (the label has rubbed off its so well loved!)

I wish I could purchase this concealer in Australia! I seen this raved about over and over again on Youtube and wanted to try it so bad so I purchased it off eBay ages ago and I’m so happy I did, its amazing! This concealer is available in the UK and is relatively inexpensive there, I think with currency conversion and shipping I ended up paying around $15 for this concealer but it’s worth every penny!
This concealer is so pigmented and creamy it is perfect for under the eyes and to cover blemishes. It doesn’t crease and I just find it blends so nicely and has the most perfect finish. I love this concealer; I never want to be without it. If I ever go to the UK I’m going to pick up like 20 of these!

Makeup Geek Gel Eyeliner Immortal

Makeup Geek Immortal Open

Makeup Geek Gel Eyeliner in Immortal –

This is the most pigmented, blackest gel eye liner I have ever used. It is creamy but not so creamy that it is hard to work with like some gel eye liners. It just glides on perfectly and it stays all day, I mean ALL day! It’s inexpensive, I think around $6 or $7 maybe and I just can’t fault it!

Nars Eye Primer

Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base –

I have tried a lot of eye primers because I have oily eye lids and this blows them all out of the water! It’s just a clear eye primer and you only need a tiny amount but it will keep your eye shadows in place all day and night! This is quite pricey so I only use this for special occasions or if I need to go out at night after work and don’t have time to re-do my makeup but it is absolutely amazing.
If I want bullet proof staying power I will use this eye primer and then use one of the makeup geek gel eye liners over it as a base and it will last forever! Seriously I did this and wore my makeup for 18 hours on day and my eye makeup looked exactly like it did when I first applied it. Mind blowing!
I have had this last on its own though for at least 12 hours before it even starts creasing even a little bit so even on its own its an amaaaazzzing product!

The Balm Highlighter Closed

The Balm Highlighter Open
The Balm Swatch

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer –

This is the prettiest highlighter I have ever seen! If you like a subtle highlight this one is not for you as its quite bam in your face! But you could just a very light dusting and it would still be beautiful. It is a lovely golden champagne colour and the consistency of this product feels like butter, it just glides on the face so nicely and gives the most beautiful glow. Love it so much!

Arbonne Foundation

Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation in Buff –

I don’t have one bad thing to say about this foundation. This is a medium coverage foundation but can be built up without looking cakey and it has a natural satin looking finish. This foundation blends in so quickly and easily and looks beautiful on the skin! I get compliments all the time when I wear this foundation and it lasts all day. I have not been able to find another foundation that even comes anywhere close to this one in quality and I wear it every day. Arbonne products are all natural which is something I love in my skincare and makeup, especially since it’s something going on my face. I also love the packaging on this, as you can see it has the mechanism that pushes the foundation up as it is pumped out so none gets wastes which I love!

Arbonne Primer

Arbonne Makeup Primer –

This product goes hand in hand with the foundation above, they work beautifully together. This looks and feels like a silicone primer but I don’t think it contains silicone. It has the nicest consistency, very smooth and silky like velvet. It works great with all the foundations I have tried it with and keeps my foundation on all day. Again it’s all natural and I love it!

Makeup Store Brow Powder

Makeup Store Tri Brow Color –

This is a little compact with three different coloured brow powders that I picked up at IMATS last year. As you can see I have made quite a dent in the medium shade and this is because it is the perfect shade for my brows! This is a really nice powder, it’s not chalky and it is very pigmented. I have been trying for ages to find a brow powder that is the right colour match for me, I have blonde hair and like a quite ashy taupe shade for my brows but I find they are all either too warm toned or too light, too dark etc.
This one is just spot on and the lightest shade works well to for when my hair is freshly coloured and toned and I need a lighter shade or for the inner part of my brows and then I use the medium shade for the middle to ends.
I will definitely be picking up another one of these at IMATS this year. I would like to check out the Makeup Store in Sydney when I go up there are as well to see their full range of products as I’m very keen to try out some more things as I have enjoyed everything I got at IMATS from them.

NYX Butter Gloss

NYX Butter Gloss –

Ok let’s start out by saying I’m not a huge fan of lip gloss. Half the time they are sticky or just uncomfortable on the lips so I normally just stick to lipstick and lip liner, but these are incredible. These smell like cake icing and have a really creamy consistency and feel so comfortable on the lips. They are really pigmented so you could wear them on their own or over a lip stick or lip liner and they have heaps of shades to choose from. They have just released 10 new shades which I have ordered 5 of and am waiting for them to arrive. This picture just shows some of the colours I have but I do own more but they are stashed throughout my hand bag and room! These are the only lip glosses that I have ever liked enough to purchase again and to recommend.

That sums up my holy grail makeup products, of course I have so many more products I really love but these are my absolute must haves. Let me know in the comments what your holy grail makeup products are so I can check them out.

All products mentioned in this post were purchased by me with my own money. I am not being paid or sponsored to do this review and all thoughts are my own. Whilst I am an Independent Consultant for Arbonne International I am not being paid or sponsored to write about their products, they do not know I am writing this post and all products were purchased with my own money. I will always give my honest opinions on anything I write about.

NYX Butter Gloss Review and Swatches

All Glosses

Hello Lovelies!

I just wanted to put up a quick review of the NYX butter glosses now that I have a selection of the original shades and some of the newly released shades to show you.

NYX is quite an affordable “drugstore” brand that has recently been brought to Australia in Target stores. I still personally purchase most of my NYX products off either or as it is less expensive on there and there is a larger variety as Target is not carrying the full range of products.

Here is what NYX claims these lip glosses will do – “Butter me up with divine gloss that feels like it melts on the lips”.

I am not generally a fan of lip gloss, I like to wear glossy lips but I don’t really like to wear lip gloss – weird I know! I just don’t like the sticky wet feeling of most glosses, I find it gets in my hair and feels gross. But these are amazing! These are my all-time favourite lip glosses and I would highly recommend these to anyone even people who do not like lip gloss like myself.

These lip glosses smell like cake icing for a start – delicious! They feel so creamy and smooth on the lips and are not sticky at all. They have really good pigmentation for a lip gloss and last quite well on the lips despite not being sticky. I think the names of these are really cute, they are all named after desserts. The packaging is quite simple and nothing fancy but I like it, I like that you can see the colour of the lip gloss inside. It just has a standard doe foot applicator.

I absolutely love these lip glosses and can’t wait to try out more of the shades.

Pinks Swatches

Swatches from left to right – Fortune Cookie, Éclair, Vanilla Cream Pie, Meringue, Strawberry Parfait, Sugar Cookie

 Darks Swatches

Let me know in the comments your thoughts on these lip glosses and what your favourite colours are. Let me know if there are any other colours you would recommend I give a try.

Beauty Haul! Sigma, Real Techniques, Urban Decay, IT Cosmetics + More!

Misc March 2014 Haul

Hi Guys!

Just thought I would show you a quick collective haul of some items I have purchased online and received in the mail over the last couple of weeks. If you would like me to do a review on any of the items mentioned leave a comment below letting me know 🙂 I have put links below where possible for where I purchased these items from.

Nail Wheels

I got 12 nail wheels on eBay, sorry not sure of the seller but if you search nail wheels heaps will come up and they are very inexpensive. I got these so I could do swatches of nail polishes for you guys on them.

Heat Gloves

I also got these heat proof gloves off ebay, I got two of them but they sent me two left handed ones! I use these when using my curling iron so I don’t burn my fingers and I lost the one that came with my curling wand so needed to get another. These are quite small even though they are meant to be one size fits all and my hands are not that big so I don’t know how that’s meant to work. Ill try them a few more times but I may need to buy a bigger one and one that can go on my right hand.

BYS Brow

BYS Brow & Eye Pencil in Blonde – This is a kind of waxy brow pencil, I have used it before and thought I would get another one, its handy for a quick natural brow when I’m in a hurry, I got this from K-mart for $4.00.

RT Sponge

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – this is supposed to be a dupe for the infamous Beauty Blender which I haven’t tried yet, I really like this one because its only around $6.00 and its perfect for blending my concealer. It’s supposed to have one flat side and I don’t know if you can see from the photo but the flat part has a bulge in it from the packaging being deformed. I have written to Iherb to see if they will give me a replacement one.

Sigma Brushes

I got a few brushes from Sigma – 2 x E40 Tapered Blending, E38 Diffused Crease,F35 Tapered Highlighter and I got a free travel size E25 Blending for spending over $30.00

Sigma ES

Sigma Eye Shadow in Papaya – This came smashed from the post so I have written to Sigma to ask for a replacement

Sigma Lip Gloss

Sigma Lip Gloss in Eleven

UD Eye Liner Set

Urban Decay Travel Eye Liner Set – Riot, Black Market, Ink, West, Desperation, Apathy

Free Sampels BB

These are samples I got from Beauty Bay when I purchased the Urban Decay eye liner set.

I’m back! Photo’s from my Bali holiday and Review on Rumi Villa’s Bali

Hello my lovelies!

Sorry for being MIA for the past couple of weeks, I have been overseas in Bali and had very limited internet access and no computer so unfortunately was unable to blog whilst I was over there 😦 I had the best time over there but am also so happy to be home and to be able to start blogging again.

I thought I would show some quick photos of where we stayed and give a quick over view of the accommodation in case anyone is thinking of going to Bali and is looking for somewhere to stay.

My husband and I went with another couple that we are good friends with and we booked a three bedroom, two storey villa in Seminyak at Rumi Villas Bali

We booked this as a package deal through Groupon which is a flash sale site and we got an amazing deal that included airport transfers, accommodation, breakfast, private housekeeper/cook, driver for two days, tours and massages, it was so affordable we couldn’t turn it down! We also wanted to stay in Seminyak as it is known to be one of the classier/safer areas of Bali.

The villa had two bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs, a kitchette, dining and living and private pool. The bedroom picture below is from the spare bedroom which had two single beds, the other two bedrooms that we used had queen beds. Overall the villa was beautiful, it did need some minor maintenance such as new kitchen appliances and pool were very aged and the water pressure in the shower and toilet were pitiful but overall it was beautiful and we were really impressed for the price.  It was so nice to have our own private pool! It made it so relaxing and was a lifesaver in the unbearable heat.

Each villa comes with it’s own private housekeeper who also doubles as a cook, this was a luxury that we were not used to and our housekeeper Wayan was so amazing! She was so lovely and helpful and it made our trip so special having her there to look after us all day. If you decide to stay here I would definitely recommend asking for Wayan to be your housekeeper, you will not be disappointed!

The villas are surrounded by a huge range of restaurants and boutique shops as well as a supermarket so its location was perfect. It was fairly close to the beach and only a short taxi ride over to Kuta which has great markets to shop in for clothing, handbags etc.

I would recommend Rumi Villas Bali if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Bali, its location and price are great and we had the best time whilst over there.

Let me know if you have been to Bali and where you stayed and your favourite places to visit whilst there.

What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag – Bali Holiday!

Hi Guys,

I am off to Bali soon and I just thought I would quickly show you what I will be taking with me in my makeup bag. My Makeup bag itself is just a basic large one pocket cow print bag that I got from K-Mart, I think its really cute and its the perfect size for travel.

When I go on holidays especially somewhere really hot and humid I don’t take much makeup with me because I generally don’t wear much makeup at all if any whilst I am away. Usually it’s just too hot and my makeup would melt off my face and I’m usually out swimming and sightseeing and it just isn’t practical to wear makeup every day. The only time I usually wear makeup on holidays is if I’m going out somewhere nice for dinner or something like that.

So I only pack the absolute basics which I have listed below.

I wont list all of the brushes I take but basically I just take one of each kind of brush I need for the face and eyes and a few eye blending brushes because you can never have too many of those.

I haven’t packed many lip products because I always have lip balm and a selection of lipsticks in my handbag at all times so that is always sufficient for me when on holidays because I usually just wear lip balm anyways. I have just added in one coral coloured lipstick because I usually don’t carry that colour in my handbag and coral is always great to wear when somewhere sunny and tropical!

Aqualillies for Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eye and Cheek Palette –

I always take this with me whenever I go anywhere on holidays, it is the perfect travel palette! It has six eye shadows which include a darker brown and a bright blue along with some great neutrals so you can create a variety of looks. It comes with my all-time favourite bronzer, the Park Ave Princess bronzer, a nice champagne highlighter and a coral/peachy blush. It is so compact and the packaging is really sturdy so I don’t have to worry about it breaking. This palette is so travel friendly, I love it!

Arbonne Primer & Foundation –

I am not going to go into much detail on these as I have spoken about them before and have them in more upcoming posts. They are just my absolute favorite’s, they just give the most flawless finish and long wear so and they are in plastic packaging so perfect for travelling.

Makeup Store Tri Brow Color –

Again not going to talk much about this because I have it featured in other posts coming up, just my perfect brow colour (the middle shade) and can’t forget the brows even when only doing basic makeup!

Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base –

This primer gives the best longwear for my shadows so will be perfect for using in the hot weather in Bali.

Makeup Geek Gel Eyeliner in Immortal –

Always good to have a black eye liner on hand in case I want to do a more dramatic look one night.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light –

I may end up swapping this out for a lighter powder, its a little dark for me at the moment as right now I am super pale! May just take my Arbonne sheer powder in light that I carry in my handbag but I’ll decide before I go.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara –

Just one of my favourite mascaras, I really need a new waterproof mascara especially to take on holidays somewhere hot but I don’t really have one at the moment so I might have to pick one up in Bali. This mascara is great though and haven’t experienced smudging from it before so it might do the trick!

Essence Brow Gel –

Again can’t forget those brows! This is just my favourite inexpensive brow gel.

Ga-De Rich & Moist Radiant Concealer in Porcelain –

I’m still trying to work out if I like this concealer or not, it doesn’t give the best coverage but I’m trying to get some use out of it so I thought I would pack it to use under my eyes.

Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer in Number 4 –

Again still trying to work out if I like this concealer or not but it is waterproof so I thought it would be perfect for the hot weather over there. I generally use this one for blemishes as it is quite thick.

Makeup Forever Aqua Shadow Crayon in 30E –

This is a great waterproof creamy pink/champagne eyeshadow stick that I like to use as a base. If I a really long wearing eye look I can put this over the Nars primer and then use the Tarte shadows on top which are also waterproof. My eye shadows should stay in place for ages!

Arbonne Lipstick in Coral Reef –

As mentioned before I just wanted to pack a nice coral lipstick. These lipsticks are so creamy and last really well on the lips and wear off evenly. This is just a really pretty coral shade.

All products mentioned in this post were purchased by me with my own money. I am not being paid or sponsored to do this review and all thoughts are my own.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2014 – Radiant Orchid – My Top Five Lip Product Picks and Swatches

All products

Hi Everyone,

Today I am going to be talking about my top five favourite lip products that fall into the colour category of ‘Radiant Orchid’ which Pantone has named as colour of the year for 2014.

Here is what Pantone has described the colour as on their website;

“Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.”

Here is also a link to their website where you can find more information on the colour,

This colour is one of my favourite colours! I think it is absolutely beautiful and suits so many skin tones and can be incorporated into so many different things such as makeup, fashion and décor. This type of colour is one of my absolute favorite’s to wear on the lips, I just think it is so flattering. I love pink lipsticks but the ones with a purple undertone like these make your teeth look whiter and are just so pretty and unique.

Here are my top five lip product picks for Radiant Orchid.

Maybelline Hot Plum

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivid Lipstick in Hot Plum –

This is a beautiful lipstick and probably the first lipstick I purchased in this type of shade. This line of lipsticks is one of my absolute favourite formulas, they are so pigmented and bright and last so long on the lips. They feel really comfortable to wear and wear off evenly. This colour is so stunning and flattering, I love it!

NYX Purple Rain

NYX Lip Liner Pencil in Purple Rain –

This is probably my most worn lip liner because it goes with so many different lipsticks. I obviously can use it with any purple lipstick but I also use it all the time under pink lipsticks to give them a purple undertone and make them into more of a radiant orchid colour. It is a medium purple with a slight pink tone to it so it’s perfect for this colour family. I really like the NYX lip liners, they are nicely pigmented and quite affordable.

YSL 19

YSL Rouge Volupe Shine in 19 –

This lipstick can look quite dark and scary in the tube but because it is the shine formula it is a bit more sheer so actually comes out a really beautiful purple/fuchsia colour. This lipstick is not the most long lasting but it is really beautiful in colour and well I mean that packaging, who could pass it up!

NYX Lip Gloss

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in African Queen –

Just like the NYX lip liner I like to use this gloss to not only compliment purple lipsticks but to give a more purple tone to pink lipsticks as well. It is a stunning hot pink/purple colour with purple/blue toned shimmer. It is super pigmented and is not sticky which I really like about it. These lip glosses are really shiny as the name implies and I think this one is just perfect for the radiant orchid trend.

Australis Gangsta

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Gangsta Rap –

When I first saw this lipstick in the store it looked a little frightening but I am so happy I decided to pick it up. It is the most beautiful purple/fuchsia colour and fits perfect for the colour of the year trend. These lipsticks have a really nice formula which surprised me considering they are so inexpensive (for Australia anyways!). They are really pigmented and smooth and last for hours on the lips.

Swatches from left to right – NYX Lip Liner in Purple Rain, Maybelline Vivid in Hot Plum, Australis Colour Inject in Gangsta Rap, YSL Rouge Volupe Shine in 19 and NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in African Queen

Those are my top five lip products picks for the Pantone colour of the year radiant orchid. Let me know in the comments below what your favourite products in this colour category are, I would love to check them out!
