I just wanted to do a quick post today to thank all of my followers and to tell you how much I appreciate your support. This morning I was very excited to wake up and find that I had reached 50 followers on my blog. I know this isn’t a massive number but to me it is my first milestone and I appreciate each and every one of you for following me on my blogging journey.
I started my blog a little over two months ago and I have absolutely loved every minute of it. I love being able to share my thoughts on the things I love and to be able to correspond with like minded people.
Once again thank you for your support and I can’t wait to continue and grow my blog even further so I can meet even more wonderful people like yourselves.
May is going to be a huge month for A Beauty Obsession as I have decided I am going to proceed with blogging every day for the month of May. It is going to be a challenge but I am excited and can’t wait for the 1st to arrive so I can get started. If you guys have any requests for any specific topics or products you would like me to post about please let me know.
Thank you once again guys. Have an amazing day 🙂 xoxox
So last week I was using the Stila In The Light and In The Garden eye shadow palettes and I love them! They have such pretty colours and the quality is great. The eye shadows are so pigmented and creamy and last all day. This week I am going to be using my Z palette that I have filled with Wet N Wild eye shadows that I de-potted. Now I can’t remember all the palettes that are in here but it is a bunch of the trios and also the shadows from the Comfort Zone 8 pan palette. I thought if I put these all together in a z palette I would reach for them more but honestly I haven’t and I don’t know why because the quality is really good so this week I am going to show this palette some love.
Let me know in the comments what palette you are going to show some love to this week.
Have a good week guys xox
I recently ordered some lip products from Bite Beauty off Brands Exclusive which is a flash sale site and I thought I would quickly show you what I picked up. I will be doing a review and swatches of my Bite Beauty Lipstick collection soon so keep an eye out for that. Bite Beauty is an all natural lip product company and I really love the two lipsticks I already have from them so decided to pick some more up. Here is what I got…
Lip Plumping Oil in Cinnamon (This actually was a gift with purchase), Lipsticks in Pastille Violet and Cassis, High Pigment Lip Pencil in Madeira
Pastille Violet, Cassis, Madeira, Cinnamon
I just wanted to do a quick post to let you all know that Marie Claire magazine is offering a free deluxe sample size (3.0g) of the infamous Benefit They’re Real mascara with their May 2014 issue. I have tried a sample of this mascara before and really liked it so this may sound a little crazy but I purchased two copies of the magazine so I could get two free samples of this mascara. This mascara can be purchased from Benefit counters at Myer stores and I believe it retails in Australia for around $38.00 so it is very pricey! If you want to try this mascara but don’t want to fork out the $38.00 for the full size then this is a great way to try out a good sized sample of it.
Not all newsagents are stocking this magazine with the free sample so you may need to shop around, I think it depends on which supplier they purchase their magazines from.
If you have this mascara let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below.

It’s the start of a new week therefore time to switch out my eyeshadow palette for a new one to use this week.
Last week I was using the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and I mentioned that I wasn’t that in love with it and I was hoping that using it for the week would make me fall in love with it more…well it didn’t. It’s not that there is really anything wrong with this palette I just don’t find the pink tones flattering on me personally and therefore don’t enjoy using it much. I honestly used different palettes for about 3 days out of the week because I just didn’t want to keep using the Naked 3 palette. I may decide to sell this palette or something later on down the track if it continues to not get any use because there is no use having it sit there and go to waste.
‘This week I have decided to use my Stila In The Light and Stila In The Garden palettes in conjunction with each other. I have decided to use both because the garden palette does not have any matte transition shades so is not a stand alone palette but I think will work well with the In the Light palette because it has some mid toned and darker matte shades that I can use for blending in the crease and the outer v. These shadows are really beautiful and great quality so I am looking forward to using these palettes this week.
Let me know in the comments what palette you will be showing some love to this week.
Have a great week guys xo
Today I am going to be showing you my Lime Crime lip stick collection with swatches and let you know my thoughts on these lipsticks.
Lime Crime is a cosmetic company that creates vegan and cruelty free makeup and nail polishes. They are renowned for their bright colours and unique packaging. So far I have only tried lip products from Lime Crime, I did try and purchase a loose eye shadow pigment at IMATS last year but when I got home I realised the box was empty but that’s another story.
I get most of my Lime Crime lipsticks from www.beautyjoint.com and I got quite a few from IMATS last year. When I go back to IMATS this year I would like to check some more of their products out. I have linked to their website below where you can see all of the shades in the lipstick range. I have some of the more “wearable” colours from the line although as you can see majority of them are very bold and are not your everyday colours.
Lipsticks from left to right – Great Pink Planet, Geradium, Airborne Unicorn, Countessa Flourescent
Lipsticks from left to right – Centrifuschia, Glamour 101, Poisonberry
I do not have any of the crazy bright colours like green, blue, yellow etc because I know I would not ever wear them but I absolutely love all the colours I do have and I would like to get some of the nudes from the collection also.
These lipsticks are so insanely opaque it is crazy! You only need one swipe of them and they glide on so creamy and pigmented. They stay on the lips for a good amount of time and they tend to leave a very slight stain on the lips which I really like.
The packaging of these lipsticks is a little crazy, some love it, and some hate it. It’s basically a purple tube with a silver glittery unicorn on it. I think it’s cute and unique and they do look nice lined up together but at the same time it does look a little childish. Its nice heavy sturdy packaging thought which I do like and whilst I do think the packaging is a little childish I think it suits the brand and the line well and I do think it’s cute.
Overall I really love these lipsticks and I can’t wait to try some more of them along with some other products from their line. Here are some swatches of the colours I own as well as the description of the colour from the Lime Crime website which I think are spot on to the colours and some of their descriptions are really funny.
Great Pink Planet –
“Pastel pink with a neon note — think Malibu Barbie!”
“Coral-pink that is so intense, it might just be radioactive.”
Airborne Unicorn –
“Medium purple with a neon note. Hue as mysterious as the animal itself…”
Countessa Fluorescent –
“Cool-based neon pink.”
Glamour 101 –
“Brick red. Part of the LIP NOIR Collection.”
“Deliciously dangerous berry-purple with a violet glow. Same intense coverage, new lustruous sheen! This shade combines lipstick and lipstain for prolonged wear.”
So that sums up my review and swatches of the Lime Crime Lipsticks, I have to say Poisonberry is my absolute favourite, that shade is stunning! Let me know in the comments what your favourite products from Lime Crime are.
All products mentioned in this post were purchased by me with my own money. I am not being paid or sponsored to do this review and all thoughts are my own.
