Trashy Tuesday – Week Two – Product Empties

Empties13

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the second week of Trashy Tuesdays where I give you mini reviews on products I have used up and let you know if I would repurchase them or not. Lets get started!

Batiste Dry Shampoo –

I won’t talk too much about this as I have mentioned it before a couple of times but this is my all-time favourite dry shampoo. If you don’t know what a dry shampoo is, basically it is a powder that you spray onto your roots where they are a little dirty and it will soak up any oils and make your hair look fresh and clean again. This is the only one I have found that I like and that works really well. I have mentioned before this does dry out and irritate my scalp so I try not to use it unless I have to however despite that I do still love this product and will continue to repurchase it.

Garnier Body Intensive 7 Day Rich Repairing Cream –

This is a super thick, intensely hydrating body cream and I really like it! Whilst it is super thick and is supposed to keep you moisturised for 7 days it is not greasy and blends into the skin really easily. I don’t know if it actually keeps you moisturised for 7 days as I don’t go that long without moisturising but it definitely was very hydrating. I did really like this and would consider repurchasing it again.

Earth Science Olive & Avocado Deep Conditioning Masque –

This is my Holy Grail hair mask! I cannot get enough of this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new hair mask. This smells divine and is super hydrating for the hair. I purchase this from www.iherb.com and it is super inexpensive (I think around $6.00). I love this product and have repurchased it.

Arbonne RE9 Regenerating Toner –

This is about my third or fourth bottle of this toner and I really love it. It is a spray on toner which is super convenient as you just have to spritz it a couple of times on your face and it sinks in really fast. This is quite hydrating and doesn’t dry my skin out at all and is very refreshing because of the spray bottle. I really like this product and would repurchase it again.

Savvy Makeup Remover Wipes –

I don’t use makeup remover wipes on my face as I haven’t found any that I like the ingredients in as I like my products to be all natural. I use makeup remover wipes to wipe my makeup brushes off on after I use them to give them a quick spot clean. Thee ones were very wet and almost soapy. I think I got these for free in some special at Priceline but I don’t think I would purchase them as I like to just use the cheap $2 ones from Kmart for this purpose.

BYS Brow and Eye Pencil in Blonde –

This is a waxy brow pencil that that a slanted tip that I really like as it makes it very quick and easy to fill in the brows. The colour of this works well for my brows and I like to use this when I just want to do a quick natural brow when I am in a hurry. This is quite inexpensive which is good because I tend to use these up really quickly. I would repurchase this again.

That’s the end of this Trashy Tuesday. Let me know in the comments what products you have used up recently.

Beyonce Heat Perfume Review

Beyonce Heat

Hi Guys,

Today I am going to be showing you a perfume that I have been absolutely loving recently and it is ‘Heat’ by Beyonce.

I got this perfume on sale for $19.99 from Chemist Warehouse a few months ago and it is unlike any perfume I have ever owned.

I normally go for very fresh clean scents and prefer scents that are fruity and citrus scented and usually do not like warm or floral scents so this is such a spin on my normal scents. This perfume has a floral scent that is also fruity and warm at the same time, it’s very unique. It’s a very sexy scent and I think it’s perfect for night time. It lasts really well on the skin as well which is one of the other main reasons I love it so much. I am not the best at describing scents so I have put the link to the scent below along with the notes.

https://www.beyonceparfums.com/heat

Fragrance

An alluring, modern fragrance, Beyoncé Heat embodies that compelling spirit. This floral, fruity, woody perfume features rare, sensual flowers and is both feminine and irresistible.

Top Notes

A radiant floral bouquet of Red Vanilla Orchid, Magnolia and Neroli, balanced with a kiss of luscious blush Peach.

Heart Notes

A sensual combination of Almond Macaroon, Honeysuckle Nectar and créme de Musk.

Base Notes

A warm and sexy dry-down of giant Sequoia Milkwood, Tonka Bean and Amber.”

I really like the bottle, its simple yet pretty and looks a little middle eastern in my opinion. I really love this perfume and would highly recommend you go and smell this one if you’re in the market for a new scent.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried this fragrance and what your thoughts are on it.

Trashy Tuesday – Week One – Product Empties

Empties 12

Hi Guys!

Welcome to the first week of “Trashy Tuesday’s”! If you are familiar with my previous “Product Empties” posts, well these are going to be the same thing really, I have just renamed it! If you missed my post last week explaining, I have decided to do a blog post every Tuesday called Trashy Tuesday where I will do mini reviews on products I have used up and let you know if I would repurchase them or not.

So here are my thoughts on the following products that I have used up recently;

Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Conditioner –

This is a massive bottle of condition, a whole litre and it took me forever to use up! This range is designed to repair damaged hair and I used to love this conditioner and the shampoo that goes with it, so much so that I have a gallon sized bottle of the shampoo! When I first tried this line I absolutely loved it and it worked really well in my hair but I find my hair gets used to products and would get used to this range really quickly and it wouldn’t do much for my hair after about a weeks’ worth of use.I also since found other shampoos and conditioners that I found work better for my hair so it became like a chore to try and use this up. The bottle kept filling up with water in my shower for some reason even though the pump was screwed on tight so heaps of it actually got wasted as I was tipping the water out before using it each time. This is a really nice conditioner and it works well but I just had too much of it and got sick of it so I probably won’t purchase it again at least not for a long time. I am still working my way through the massive gallon bottle of shampoo and I think it will take me years to use up!

Arbonne RE9 Restorative Day Crème SPF 15 –

This is about my third bottle of this moisturiser and I really like it. It is a really nice, very moisturising day crème. I find this to be very hydrating but not greasy on my oily skin which is something I really love about it. It is all natural which is what I look for in my skin care and I would definitely repurchase this again.

Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara –

This is my favourite brow gel and I have featured it in many empties before as well. It’s very affordable and does the job pretty well, not much more to say about it – it’s just great! I have already repurchased this and always have backups waiting in my collection.

Gillette Sensitive Skin Shave Foam –

This product is ok, it’s not my favourite for shaving as I much prefer shave gels but it did the job. It doesn’t really have a scent, it’s just a basic inexpensive shave gel and I will probably repurchase in the future again.

Crystal Body Deodorant Stick –

I have spoken about this product before in a products I don’t enjoy blog post where I spoke about how I just don’t get this product. It is a crystal stick deodorant that you are supposed to dampen with water and then rub on your underarms. I didn’t find this did anything and was a very strange product. I have tried to use it a few times now and just don’t like it so I’m going to get rid of it even though it’s still full because it’s just sitting there wasting space. I obviously would not repurchase this product.

Arbonne Aromassentials Unwind Rejuvenating Body Mist –

This body spray smells like lavender, ylang ylang and chamomile and has a very soothing relaxing scent. I spray this on my pillow and body at night time to help me relax and get to sleep. I really like this product and have already repurchase it.

So that sums up my first Trashy Tuesday, I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments what you have used up recently.

Trashy Tuesdays Coming Soon!…

Hello my lovelies!

I have decided to start a series on my blog called “Trashy Tuesday’s” where I upload a post on products I have used up (trash) and give you mini reviews on each of the products and let you know if I would repurchase the products or not. These have previously been known as my Product Empties posts and I recently did empties week where I uploaded a empties/trash post everyday for an entire week. I was thinking of doing this again as I have somehow accumulated enough empty products to do about 7 or 8 posts with again already but I thought I would do something different and instead upload one post on the same day each week showing products I have used up.

I never used to use up products so quickly but lately I have been using up so many products every week it has blown me away! I have been trying not to purchase as much as I used to as my collection was getting out of control and I have also been trying to use products up before opening a new one e.g. using up my toner before opening another one instead of having like four toners open at once! I think my lack of shopping (as much) and trying to use up products has caused the influx of empty products that I have been experiencing over the past few months.

Let me know what you think of this idea of me doing “Trashy Tuesday’s” where I upload an empties post every Tuesday and if this is something you guys would like to see. I am hoping to start these series from next week onwards.

Thanks for reading guys and for your continuing support. xo

Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color Review and Swatches – All Four Shades

All product

Hi Everyone!

Today I am going to do a quick review and some swatches of the new Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color’s. These are a hybrid between a liquid lipstick and a lipgloss and are relatively new on the market. I purchased all four of the shades that are available from http://beautyjoint.com/lips/milani-lip-intense-liquid-color for $6.99 each.

Packaging

These come in a flattened tube with a gold lid and writing, they have a wand with a rounded applicator on the end. I quite like the packaging as it is quite different to anything else on the market and the wand makes application very easy and precise.

These are all extremely pigmented and creamy and glide on the lips so smoothly. The shades are all extremely bright and are not for the faint hearted! They stay kind of wet and creamy on the lips so you need to be careful not the smear them everywhere but I do find they stay on the lips without bleeding quite well and wear off fairly evenly.

Swatches

Swatches from Left to Right – 04 Violet Addict, 01 Red Exteme, 03 Fiery Coral, 02 Pink Rave

I am still testing the wear time on these but so far they all last for a few hours on the lips quite well. I think these are a really nice product and am excited to continue playing with them. I hope they come out with some more shades including some more wearable everyday shades.

Makeup Geek Blushes – All 13 Shades – Review and Swatches

Blushes

Hi Everyone,

I have a very exciting post for you today! I finally received my order of the new Makeup Geek blushes and have been playing around with them for the past couple of weeks and can’t wait to share my thoughts on these with you.

If you know me at all, you know I am obsessed with Makeup Geek products, I own all of the eye shadows (except a couple of new ones that just came out) and most of the pigments. You can check out my reviews and swatches here on the eye shadows and here on the pigments if you would like more details.

If you have not heard of Makeup Geek it is a cosmetic brand that was created by a lady called Marlena who has a channel on YouTube called Makeup Geek TV. She has been working really hard for the past couple of years growing her range of cosmetics and finally she has released the much awaited blush collection.

I have been waiting anxiously for so long for these to come out, I love her eye shadows so much and when she announced she would be releasing blushes I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them to see if they have the same amazing quality as the shadows.

Marlena released 13 different shades of blushes, 9 of them matte and 4 of them shimmer. I couldn’t help myself, I decided to pick up all 13 shades!  The blushes come in both pan form which retail for $9.99 and in compacts which retail for $12.99 and I chose to purchase all of mine in compacts so I could put them in Z palettes as I like having them all together. As you will see from my photos I have sorted them into two different palettes, one with the more peachy/coral shades and one with the more pink/plum shades. I really like them sorted like this as it is so easy to pick up one of the palettes and choose a shade from either pinks or peaches depending on what look I am going for.

Blushes in palettes

The pans contain 4.25 grams of blush in each one which is a little smaller than M.A.C blushes which I believe contain somewhere around 6 grams of product. I think for the amount of product and the quality the prices are quite fair on the Makeup Geek blushes. These blushes are made in the USA and are talc and cruelty free.

The formula on these blushes is amazing and definitely lives up to the quality of the eye shadows and pigments from the brand. The blushes are smooth and creamy and they blend out beautifully on the cheeks. I find they last all day on me and haven’t made me break out. I am really impressed with these blushes and am so glad to have them in my collection. I haven’t used anything else since I got them which is saying a lot because I usually wear different products every day. They a very pigmented but not overally pigmented where they become hard to work with, they are the perfect in between.

Now onto the shades and the swatches;

Peach swatches

Swatches from Left to Right – Honeymoon, Spell Bound, Romance, Smitten, Bliss, Summer Fling and Infatuation

Honeymoon – This is a very pale muted pink with a tiny hint of peach and silver glitter. I don’t like glitter in my blushes or highlighters, shimmer is ok but glitter I’m not a fan of so this one is probably my least favourite out of all of them. It’s too pale and glittery to use as a blush but too dark to use as a highlighter on my pale skin so the only way I can use this one is as a topper on other blushes but because of the glitter I don’t see myself getting a lot of use out of this one. I wish she has just made a really pretty shimmery highlighter instead.

Spell Bound – This shade looks kind of boring in the pan but is absolutely stunning and is one of my favourites because it looks so natural and flattering on the cheeks. It is a matte peachy pink shade that is not too warm and not too cool toned so will suit nearly everyone. Whilst this shade is matte it seems to give more of a satin finish and just looks so pretty on the cheeks. If you are going to get any shade I would highly recommend this one.

Romance – This is a peachy/pink shade with a tonne of gold shimmer in it that gives it a really pretty sheen. This is one of those “Nars Orgasm” type shades that again will be flattering on so many skin tones.

Smitten – This is a true matte peach shade. This doesn’t swatch that well but it goes on the cheeks beautifully and is a shade that really surprised me as I didn’t think I would like it that much but I find it to be so pretty on and I really love it.

Bliss – This is another shade that I didn’t expect to love as much as I do but I guess I am getting more into peaches lately and this shade is a gorgeous matte cantaloupe shade that is slightly darker than the above shade. Like Smitten it doesn’t swatch that well but I find that to be the case with majority of orange blushes but it blends beautifully onto the cheeks and is perfect for summer!

Summer Fling – This is a bright matte coral/orange shade that is very vibrant. Being quite fair I have to be very careful applying this blush otherwise it can come off too intense but with a tan it will be the perfect summer blush.

Infatuation – This shade is a matte tan which can be used as a bronzer for fair skin (how I use it) or as a natural blush for medium to dark skin tones. It is not too warm and not too cool so will work for many skin tones however fair skinned girls beware, you will need a light hand with this one too.

Pink swatches

Swatches from Left to Right – Love Affair, Rendezvous, Hanky Panky, Secret Admirer, Head Over Heels and First Love

Love Affair – This is a super intense matte coral/pink. This shade is super bright and pigmented so be careful if you are fair, I think medium to dark skin tones will love this one especially in the summer time.

Rendezvous – This is a very pigmented plumy/pink shade that is perfect for winter. This is a matte shade however like her other matte shades it has a more satin finish which I prefer as it gives a pretty natural look.

Hanky Panky – This is a very standard matte mid toned pink. This shade is quite pigmented so if you are fair you may need to use a light hand. This shade is very pretty and is a great staple shade for any collection.

Secret Admirer – This is a cool toned matte purple/pink shade. This shade screams radiant orchid and is perfect for anyone looking for a blush in that colour range (which I have been). I love this blush, it is purple but it doesn’t look crazy or weird on the cheeks. It just gives a super pretty flush and is perfect if you like cool toned blushes.

Head Over Heels – This is a light bubble gum pink with a very slight shimmer in it. This is another one of my favourites from the line. It is the most perfect natural pink blush that goes with just about any look.

First Love – This blush was made for the fairest of fair girls, it is a baby pink with pink shimmer in it. This shade is super fair and I don’t think many skin tones will be able to wear this. I am about an NW20 in M.A.C and this shade is too fair for me and makes me look a little ashy so I would not recommend this one unless you are super super fair.

Overall I really like these blushes and I think there is a shade in here to suit anyone’s taste and/or skin tone. I think Marlena did a really great job with these and I hope she expands the range in the future.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of the Makeup Geek blushes and what your favourite one is.

Australis Colour Inject Lipstick Review and Swatches

Lipsticks

Hi Everyone!

Today I want to talk about the Australis Colour Inject Lipsticks and do a quick review and some swatches for you guys.

Australis is an Australian cosmetic brand and can be purchased from Priceline and Kmart and it is relatively inexpensive especially compared to some other brands in Australian “drugstores”. I have three shades from this lipstick line and I will start off by saying that I absolutely love them!

I purchased these on sale and did not expect too much from them because I honestly have not been overly impressed with many products from Australis but was really surprised at the quality of these lipsticks.

Package

Labels

They come in a black tube that has a slanted lid, the packaging is quite heavy and looks and feels quite nice. It has the names on the bottom with a sticker of the colour of the lipstick that is inside so it makes it easy to find the colour you are looking for.

The shades I have are a cream finish and I think all the shades in the line may be a cream finish but I could be wrong. What I love about these lipsticks is that they are so creamy and pigmented and just glide on the lips so smoothly but are not too creamy where they end up moving all over the place during the day. I think the shade names are so cute as well, I hate when products have really boring shade names!

These last for hours on the lips and I think the formula could pass for a high end lipstick, they are that good! Below are some swatches of the three shades I have but I really want to pick up some more from the collection.

Swatches

Mambo, Gangsta Rap, Lick The Icing

Let me know in the comments if you have tried these lipsticks and what your thoughts on them are and if you have any shades you can recommend.
