May Blog-A-Thon Day Seven – Urban Decay Naked One Palette vs Chi Chi Nudes Palette – Dupe? – Swatches and Comparison

Palettes outside

Today I am going to be showing you all a comparison between the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette and the Chi Chi Nudes palette and explaining the similarities and differences.

I think the photos are going to do most of the talking in this post, as you can see the shades in both of these palettes are extremely similar. The Urban Decay palette retails for approximately $52.00 I believe in America and as I’m sure all of you Aussies would know you will need to pay much more than that for it if you want to get it shipped over to Australia. Urban Decay is not sold in Australia so I purchased my palette off www.beautybay.com.

Chi Chi is an Australian cosmetic company and can be purchased from Target and Myer and the Nudes palette retails for around the $15-25.00 mark depending where you go and what sales are on.

Packaging Comparison

First of all obviously the packaging is very different between the palettes. The Urban Decay palette is in a cardboard palette with velvet on the outside and a magnetic closure. There is a mirror inside and it also comes with a brush. The packaging is fairly sturdy however as it is cardboard it is likely to wear quickly and look old and ragged. I honestly do not use this palette much which is why it is still in quite good condition.

The Chi Chi Nudes palette comes in a plastic packaging with a clear top cover. This has a snap shut closure and no mirror. It does have a space for a brush similar to the Urban Decay one but I honestly do not remember it coming with one. The packaging for this one is quite cheap looking but fairly sturdy and the clear top cover is helpful when trying to see what shadows are inside especially if you were to have numerous Chi Chi palettes as they all come in the same packaging for the most part.

Comparison pans

Swatches below show just how similar these shades are, the Chi Chi shadows are on top and the Urban Decay are on the bottom.

In regards to quality the Chi Chi ones are really good quality for the price but the Urban Decay ones are slightly more pigmented and smooth. Overall the Chi Chi shadows are a little chalky and have more fall out than the Urban Decay.

These palettes are so similar and the quality of the Chi Chi ones are pretty good so if you are on a budget and can’t justify spending the money on the Urban Decay Naked palette then I would definitely recommend checking out the Chi Chi nudes palette. I honestly hardly reach for either of these palettes and I can’t work out why. I love warm tones eye shadows and shimmery shades which these have and the colours are beautiful and the quality is great but for some reason anytime I use either I just hate the way they look on my eyes so they don’t get a lot of love. I think I just need to play around with the colours more so I will be featuring one of them in a weekly palette challenge soon.

I hope you guys enjoyed this comparison, let me know in the comments if you own both and which one you prefer.
