Makeup Forever Aqua Shadow 30E Review and Swatch

MFE

Hi Everyone,

I have a really quick review that I wanted to do for you guys today and it is on the Makeup Forever Aqua Shadow Crayon in 30E.

I picked this product up last year at IMATS Sydney and have been absolutely loving it ever since and I can’t wait to go back to IMATS this year and hopefully be able to pick up some more shades. This is basically a cream eye shadow crayon and it is waterproof which is something I absolutely love about this product because it makes it totally budge proof!

This shade is a really pretty pinky/peachy champagne shimmer, it makes the perfect base for any champagne, pink or peach eye shadow and I have also used it under gold before and it looked gorgeous. The formula is very smooth and creamy and it blends out really nicely. I prefer these crayons to the Aqua eyes in the pots as I find them a little harder to get a nice thin even application with whereas with this it goes on perfectly. I find this lasts all day long and is waterproof so it is perfect for summer.

Swatch

The crayon does have to be sharpened and whilst it doesn’t overally bother me, I would prefer if it was a retractable as it is easier and wastes less product.

I really love this product and this it is such amazing quality and cannot wait to try more shades from the range. Let me know what shades you would recommend from the line in the comments below.

What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag – Bali Holiday!

Hi Guys,

I am off to Bali soon and I just thought I would quickly show you what I will be taking with me in my makeup bag. My Makeup bag itself is just a basic large one pocket cow print bag that I got from K-Mart, I think its really cute and its the perfect size for travel.

Bag

When I go on holidays especially somewhere really hot and humid I don’t take much makeup with me because I generally don’t wear much makeup at all if any whilst I am away. Usually it’s just too hot and my makeup would melt off my face and I’m usually out swimming and sightseeing and it just isn’t practical to wear makeup every day. The only time I usually wear makeup on holidays is if I’m going out somewhere nice for dinner or something like that.

So I only pack the absolute basics which I have listed below.

I wont list all of the brushes I take but basically I just take one of each kind of brush I need for the face and eyes and a few eye blending brushes because you can never have too many of those.

I haven’t packed many lip products because I always have lip balm and a selection of lipsticks in my handbag at all times so that is always sufficient for me when on holidays because I usually just wear lip balm anyways. I have just added in one coral coloured lipstick because I usually don’t carry that colour in my handbag and coral is always great to wear when somewhere sunny and tropical!

Aqualillies for Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eye and Cheek Palette –

I always take this with me whenever I go anywhere on holidays, it is the perfect travel palette! It has six eye shadows which include a darker brown and a bright blue along with some great neutrals so you can create a variety of looks. It comes with my all-time favourite bronzer, the Park Ave Princess bronzer, a nice champagne highlighter and a coral/peachy blush. It is so compact and the packaging is really sturdy so I don’t have to worry about it breaking. This palette is so travel friendly, I love it!

Arbonne Primer & Foundation –

I am not going to go into much detail on these as I have spoken about them before and have them in more upcoming posts. They are just my absolute favorite’s, they just give the most flawless finish and long wear so and they are in plastic packaging so perfect for travelling.

Makeup Store Tri Brow Color –

Again not going to talk much about this because I have it featured in other posts coming up, just my perfect brow colour (the middle shade) and can’t forget the brows even when only doing basic makeup!

Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base –

This primer gives the best longwear for my shadows so will be perfect for using in the hot weather in Bali.

Makeup Geek Gel Eyeliner in Immortal –

Always good to have a black eye liner on hand in case I want to do a more dramatic look one night.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light –

I may end up swapping this out for a lighter powder, its a little dark for me at the moment as right now I am super pale! May just take my Arbonne sheer powder in light that I carry in my handbag but I’ll decide before I go.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara –

Just one of my favourite mascaras, I really need a new waterproof mascara especially to take on holidays somewhere hot but I don’t really have one at the moment so I might have to pick one up in Bali. This mascara is great though and haven’t experienced smudging from it before so it might do the trick!

Essence Brow Gel –

Again can’t forget those brows! This is just my favourite inexpensive brow gel.

Ga-De Rich & Moist Radiant Concealer in Porcelain –

I’m still trying to work out if I like this concealer or not, it doesn’t give the best coverage but I’m trying to get some use out of it so I thought I would pack it to use under my eyes.

Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer in Number 4 –

Again still trying to work out if I like this concealer or not but it is waterproof so I thought it would be perfect for the hot weather over there. I generally use this one for blemishes as it is quite thick.

Makeup Forever Aqua Shadow Crayon in 30E –

This is a great waterproof creamy pink/champagne eyeshadow stick that I like to use as a base. If I a really long wearing eye look I can put this over the Nars primer and then use the Tarte shadows on top which are also waterproof. My eye shadows should stay in place for ages!

Arbonne Lipstick in Coral Reef –

As mentioned before I just wanted to pack a nice coral lipstick. These lipsticks are so creamy and last really well on the lips and wear off evenly. This is just a really pretty coral shade.
