Trashy Tuesdays – Products I Have Used Up

Hello Everyone,

Once again I must apologise for the long timeframe between posts. If you have been following my blog for a while then you will know I have started my own business selling my handmade soy candles and bath products which has been keeping me extremely busy and unfortunately I don’t have as much time for my blog anymore. I promise to try my hardest this year and getting posts up a little more regularly again.

I have been saving up a lot of empty products lately so I thought I would kick things off again with a trashy Tuesday, which if you are new to my blog is where I give mini reviews of beauty products I have used up that are now ‘Trash’ and I upload this posts on Tuesday’s.

Enough rambling from me, let’s get into it!

Justin Beiber Someday 50ml Eau De Parfume – ok so I’m not a fan of the Beib’s but I must say I did enjoy this perfume. The bottle is cute and the scent is very sweet and pleasant smelling. If you don’t like sweet perfumes then you will hate this one but I didn’t mind it. Would I repurchase it again? Probably not just because I have way too many perfumes and always like trying new ones but if someone got it for me as a gift I would happily use it again.

Stridex Natural Control Triangle Pads – I got these off iherb after hearing the original version being recommend by a Youtuber but decided to go for the natural ones as I only like to use mostly natural skincare when possible. These are little triangle pads soaked in a solution containing salicylic acid amongst other things and are supposed to help clear up acne. I used one each night after washing my face and it made for a nice quick and easy toner but I didn’t really notice any difference to my skin so I probably wouldn’t repurchase again.

Bee Naturals Miracle Skin Creme – I also picked this up off iherb and this is basically an all purpose balm type product that can be used on cuts, dry skin, lips or anywhere that your skin needs soothing and moisturisation. This came in hand for dry skin patches that I sometimes get and this tub lated for ages! I would recommend this and would repurchase it again although now with me making my own bath products and some skin care I think I will have a go at making something similar myself.

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Purée – I got this moisturiser for free at a body shop party I hosted and first of all I must say it smells incredible! So fresh and fruity! However I did find this to be quite thin and watery and not very moisturising at all so for that reason I would not recommend this product. I would however like to try the body butter in this scent as the body shop body butters are pretty good and this scent alone would be worth trying it out.

So that’s all for this Trashy Tuesday, I will have more posts like this coming up showing more products I have used up. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts are on them or what you have used up lately.

Take care guys, love yas! Xo

Trashy Tuesday – Week Three – Product Empties

Empties 14

Hi Lovelies!

I hope you are all doing well. It’s time for another Trashy Tuesday where I share with you products I have used up and what I thought about them so let’s get into it.

Arbonne FC5 Nourishing Daily Shampoo –

This is my Holy Grail shampoo along with the conditioner which I used up and showed in an empties a while ago. The brand is all natural and smells so delicious like fruit. This is a very gentle creamy shampoo that is free of sulfates so it does not lather like a normal shampoo but I find it still gets my hair really clean. This shampoo is very moisturising especially with the coordinating conditioner and I absolutely love them together. I desperately need to repurchase both the shampoo and conditioner as I miss them so much!

Messhead Hair Therapy Dry Shampoo –

I was not a huge fan of this dry shampoo, it smells fairly nice but did not do much for making my hair look or feel clean again. It does not have the strength of my beloved Batiste Dry Shampoo and also not the lasting power, I found I would have to keep reusing this throughout the day whereas with the Batiste I only have to use it once in the morning. I won’t be repurchasing this dry shampoo again.

LUSH Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner –

This product is made from Argan Oil and is designed to be used in the shower after washing your body. You put it all over and then rinse it off and pat dry and it is supposed to remove the need to moisturise after you get out of the shower. This smells so delicious like roses and I do find it is very hydrating and I don’t need to moisturise afterwards. My only gripe with this product is that it is very expensive, this is a smell pot I got in a set but the full size pot is over $30 and I find I went through this very quickly. I would consider repurchasing though as I do really like this product. I am going to keep this pot as if you return 5 empty pots to LUSH they will give you a free fresh face mask.

Orion Body Sync Woman Sport Deodorant –

This deodorant is from Aldi and was very inexpensive (less than $2) and I did find that it worked quite well. This is still about half full but I am getting rid of it as I decided to move onto more natural aluminum free deodorants as aluminum has been linked to breast cancer so I don’t want to use deodorants with it in them anymore. I won’t be repurchasing this because of this reason and I also won’t be finishing this product.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Brightener –

I really like this product especially the one in fair/light. This is the pink toned one designed to brighten and it was nice for highlighting. This is a very creamy thin formula but it still gives about a medium coverage. I do prefer the one in light as it is more yellow toned and I like it for my under eyes and for a subtle highlight so I will probably repurchase that shade again instead of this one.

Azelique Age Refining Skin Polish –

I purchased this product off www.iherb.com and didn’t expect to fall in love with it as much as I did. This is a microdermabrasion scrub that is designed to be used 2-3 times per week to clear pores and remove dead skin cells like a microdermabrasion treatment would do. I absolutely love this product! It is very gentle to use but OMG it makes my skin so smooth and soft! I find it really helps clear my pores and keep my skin clear. I am obsessed with this product and have repurchased another one, I would highly recommend it.

Whitening Lightening Zero Whitening Pen –

I am really inconsistent with these whitening pens so I can’t really comment on how well they work because I always forget to use them. This is basically a pen that you click and teeth whitening gel comes through the brush on the end and you brush it on your teeth and leave it on and it is supposed to whiten your teeth. I have noticed a very slight improvement in the whiteness of my teeth with this but like I said I am very inconsistent with it so if I was to use it more consistently I am sure I would get better results. I have a couple more of these so I will try and use the next one more regularly and report back.

That sums up this week’s Trashy Tuesday, let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these products and what your thoughts on them are. Have a great week guys J

Trashy Tuesday – Week One – Product Empties

Empties 12

Hi Guys!

Welcome to the first week of “Trashy Tuesday’s”! If you are familiar with my previous “Product Empties” posts, well these are going to be the same thing really, I have just renamed it! If you missed my post last week explaining, I have decided to do a blog post every Tuesday called Trashy Tuesday where I will do mini reviews on products I have used up and let you know if I would repurchase them or not.

So here are my thoughts on the following products that I have used up recently;

Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Conditioner –

This is a massive bottle of condition, a whole litre and it took me forever to use up! This range is designed to repair damaged hair and I used to love this conditioner and the shampoo that goes with it, so much so that I have a gallon sized bottle of the shampoo! When I first tried this line I absolutely loved it and it worked really well in my hair but I find my hair gets used to products and would get used to this range really quickly and it wouldn’t do much for my hair after about a weeks’ worth of use.I also since found other shampoos and conditioners that I found work better for my hair so it became like a chore to try and use this up. The bottle kept filling up with water in my shower for some reason even though the pump was screwed on tight so heaps of it actually got wasted as I was tipping the water out before using it each time. This is a really nice conditioner and it works well but I just had too much of it and got sick of it so I probably won’t purchase it again at least not for a long time. I am still working my way through the massive gallon bottle of shampoo and I think it will take me years to use up!

Arbonne RE9 Restorative Day Crème SPF 15 –

This is about my third bottle of this moisturiser and I really like it. It is a really nice, very moisturising day crème. I find this to be very hydrating but not greasy on my oily skin which is something I really love about it. It is all natural which is what I look for in my skin care and I would definitely repurchase this again.

Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara –

This is my favourite brow gel and I have featured it in many empties before as well. It’s very affordable and does the job pretty well, not much more to say about it – it’s just great! I have already repurchased this and always have backups waiting in my collection.

Gillette Sensitive Skin Shave Foam –

This product is ok, it’s not my favourite for shaving as I much prefer shave gels but it did the job. It doesn’t really have a scent, it’s just a basic inexpensive shave gel and I will probably repurchase in the future again.

Crystal Body Deodorant Stick –

I have spoken about this product before in a products I don’t enjoy blog post where I spoke about how I just don’t get this product. It is a crystal stick deodorant that you are supposed to dampen with water and then rub on your underarms. I didn’t find this did anything and was a very strange product. I have tried to use it a few times now and just don’t like it so I’m going to get rid of it even though it’s still full because it’s just sitting there wasting space. I obviously would not repurchase this product.

Arbonne Aromassentials Unwind Rejuvenating Body Mist –

This body spray smells like lavender, ylang ylang and chamomile and has a very soothing relaxing scent. I spray this on my pillow and body at night time to help me relax and get to sleep. I really like this product and have already repurchase it.

So that sums up my first Trashy Tuesday, I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments what you have used up recently.

Product Empties/Products I Have Used Up – Would I Repurchase? #12

Welcome to the final day of product empties week. If you haven’t been following I have uploaded a new post everyday with products I have used up and mini reviews on each item. Product empty posts are one of my favourite’s to read so I really hope you guys have enjoyed all the posts this week. This is another Arbonne dense post so one again I apologise for that guys, I just love their products so much! Let me know if you have enjoyed product empties week in the comments below and leave me links to your product empties post, I would love to read them.

Reviva Microdermabrasion Pomegranate Scrub –

I got this off Iherb after I heard Makeup by Ren Ren on YouTube rave about it for removing blackheads. It is quite inexpensive, doesn’t really have a scent and it a very gentle exfoliant that you use 1-2 times per week. You rub this over your skin for 2-3 minutes to really scrub away the dead skin cells and then rinse it off and your skin will feel baby soft. I did like this one but I have a similar one that I also got off Iherb that I like much better, it just makes my skin feel that little bit more soft and smooth. This one is way cheaper than the other so I would maybe repurchase it in a pinch as I did still really like it.

Arbonne SeaSource Fortifying Hair Mask –

I really liked this hair mask, my only gripe with it is that it ran out too quickly. It is very thick and moisturising and made my hair super soft when I used it. I would repurchase this one again in the future, I am just trying to use up some other masks first as I have way too many at the moment.

Arbonne SeaSource Detox Spa Purifying Sea Soak –

I won’t talk too much about this as I have already featured it in another empties but I do really like this product for removing toxins from the body and relieving sore muscles. Will repurchase.

Arbonne Pure Vibrance Fortifying Shampoo and Conditioner –

I am on the fence about this shampoo and conditioner, they were nice but I don’t love them as much as the FC5 ones from Arbonne which are my holy grail. This line is designed for colour treated hair but I find the FC5 ones make my hair so much softer and smell much nicer so I will probably repurchase those instead of these. This was just a deluxe sample size of each so was a good way to try them out.

Arbonne Aromassentials Awaken Sea Salt Scrub –

This scrub smells like lemon and coriander and is very fresh and great for use in the morning to help wake you up. It is quite a harsh salt scrub but it mixed in with oils so it is great for removing the dead skin really well but the oils help to keep the skin moisturised. I would repurchase this one in the future however I have a couple of scrubs to use up in the meantime and I am think of recycling this tub and making my own scrub to put inside it.

Product Empties/Products I Have Used Up – Would I Repurchase? #11

Almay TLC Foundation in Buff –

I quite liked this foundation when I first got it but then I stopped using it and now it has gone off so it is time to toss this one. This has about medium coverage and lasted pretty well throughout the day. I only really use my Arbonne Perfecting Liquid foundation now as it is my holy grail and I can’t find anything that competes with it so I probably wouldn’t repurchase this one.

Almay Line Smoothing Foundation in Buff –

As with the above foundation I used to quite like this one but I stopped using it and now it has gone off so time to get rid of it. This also had medium coverage and lasted quite well throughout the day. I did find this filled in my forehead lines quite well but it was a very sticky foundation so it was a pain to apply. I probably won’t repurchase this one either.

Ecopure Honey & Shea Lip Butter

I don’t know where I got this lip butter from but it was nothing special and I didn’t really use much of it and now it looks weird so I think it has gone off. The Nivea lip butters are my holy grail and I will continue to repurchase those so I wouldn’t repurchase this one.

I Love…Coconut & Cream Lip Butter –

I did like this lip butter when I first got it but then it got forgotten about in the back of my drawer and now has a slight chemical smell to it so I think it has gone off as well. This smelt exactly as the name implies, like coconut and cream and coconut is one of my favourite scents so I really liked this one. I would consider repurchasing this one.

Essence Stay All Day Long Lasting Eye Shadows –

These three eyeshadows from Essence are in a cream format but they are all very dry and patchy so I have never really worn them. One was so dry when I purchased it that the entire contents fell out of the pot when I opened it. I would recommend these and I definitely would purchase anymore. The consistency of these is so bad they are useless so they are going in the bin.

Arbonne RE9 Night Repair Crème –

I love this night cream, it is thick and moisturising without being too greasy and my skin is always smooth and hydrated when I wake up in the morning. It has a pleasant scent and I am already using another tub of this. I would repurchase it.

LUSH Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie Sample –

This is a thick consistency and is designed to be rubbed into your skin and then washed off whilst in the shower and it is supposed to be really hydrating. I did not like this product, I found it made my skin feel kind of sticky and tight and it was not that moisturising. I would not purchase the full size of this, it’s a weird product.

EOS Lip Balm in Pomegranate –

I purchased this off Ebay as we don’t have EOS in Australia and I wanted to try it out as I had heard a lot of hype about these lip balms. I later found out that there are a lot of fakes of these on eBay so I am not sure if mine was fake or not but I did not like it. It is just a waxy balm that does nothing for moisturising the lips and like the other lip balms above it now has a chemical smell to it so I am tossing it as I think it is off. I would not repurchase this.

Arbonne RE9 Smoothing Facial Cleanser –

I love this cleanser! It has a really nice light fresh fruit scent, it’s all natural and it removes my makeup really well and doesn’t sting my eyes. What more can I say? I love it and would definitely repurchase it again.

Product Empties/Products I Have Used Up – Would I Repurchase? #10

All prodcts

Welcome to day four of empties week guys! Who is enjoying empties week so far? This is a very Arbonne dense post and I apologise for the lack of brand variety in this one. I am a consultant for Arbonne International so that is why I use so many of their products, I absolutely love them. That of course in no ways hinders my opinion on their products, I am always 100% honest with you guys 🙂

root powder

Schwarzkoft Instant Volume Powder –

This product is a powder that you dust in your hair at the roots to give you a textured teased effect…..and it does exactly that! This will make your hair look like it has been teased without having to actually damage your hair by teasing it. It does make your hair feel sticky and dirty which I don’t like but my hair usually sits quite flat so I love using this at the roots to give me more volume and a tousled look. I am currently using the VO5 one which I don’t like as much as this one and I have just ordered the Big Sexy Hair one online to try as I have heard good things about that one. I would repurchase this one again, it works well and is inexpensive.

arbonne calm serum

Arbonne Calm Soothing Facial Serum –

First of all I hate the packaging on this product! It is a glass bottle with a dropper but the dropper is crap and doesn’t pick up hardly any product so you have to tip the bottle upside down and try and shake the product out which is so annoying, I really wish they would repackaging this product into a pump bottle. Now that the negative about the packaging is out of the way onto the actual product which I love. This is a light weight serum with a sort of gel/oil consistency that is formulated for sensitive skin. This serum really calms my skin down and doesn’t break me out and I can use it under my makeup with no problems as it is not greasy at all and sinks right into the skin. I really like this serum despite the packaging and have repurchased and am using the second bottle now.

detox spa

Arbonne SeaSource Detox Spa Purifying Sea Soak –

This is a powdered sea salt product that you put in your bath and it has ingredients in it that are designed to draw out toxins from your body. This has a light herbal fragrance and I do find I feel very refreshed after I bath in this product. It is really beneficial for your skin and for sore muscles. I highly recommend this product.

arbonne conditioner

Arbonne FC5 Noruishing Daily Conditioner –

This is my holy grail conditioner! It smells amazing and moisturisers my hair better than any leave in treatment or deep conditioner. This in combination with the shampoo is amazing and I highly highly recommend them. Will definitely be repurchasing this product.

arbonne cleanser

Arbonne RE9 Intensive Renewal Serum –

This is my favourite serum I have ever used. It smells really nice, like a light fruity scent and is not greasy at all. This sinks into the skin so nicely and I find it really helps with my skin texture and discoloration. My only gripe with this product is that it runs out so quickly and is so expensive, I usually go through a bottle of this a month! I am onto another bottle of this already but I do use in sparingly as I don’t want to go through it so quickly again.

Product Empties/Products I Have Used Up – Would I Repurchase #9

All products

Welcome to day four of empties week!

Arbonne RE9 Restorative Day Crème SPF 15 –

I really like this day cream, it is moisturising without being too greasy and I like that it has SPF so I don’t have to apply a separate SPF to my face. It comes in a pump bottle which I love because it’s hygienic and easy to use. Not much more to say about this, it’s a great day cream.

Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleaning Gel –

This cleanser took me forever to use up! It was a green gel like consistency and there is still a tiny bit left in the bottom but it is hard to get out and I am just over it so I think it is time to retire this one. I used about ¾ of this ages ago and then put it away and forgot about it. I recently pulled it back out and started using it as my morning cleanser as it was not the best at removing makeup at night. It was ok for morning use as it was quite gentle but I wouldn’t repurchase this again as it was just kind of meh.

White Musk Hand Sanitiser –

This isn’t exactly a beauty product but I used to keep this with my makeup so I could sanitise my hands before doing my makeup. This had a light floral scent and was so hard to use up as the bottle was very hard to squeeze any product out of. I got this as a promotional item from a company my work employs so I don’t think it is even available to purchase anywhere but even if it was I probably wouldn’t repurchase. I just got some of the bath and body ones and they are much nicer as they smell better.

Batiste Original Dry Shampoo –

I have a very love/hate relationship with this dry shampoo. I love the way it works, you spray it in and it makes greasy hair look fresh and clean again. I don’t mind the slight white cast it gives as my hair is blonde so it lightens my roots but if you brush it out well you won’t get the white cast. My hate with this product is that it drys my scalp out so badly so I have been trying not to use it very often anymore. I have purchased backups of this product but I am on the hunt for a dry shampoo that works just as well without drying out my scalp.

Mustika Ratu Papaya Bath & Shower Gel –

I picked this up a few months ago when I was in Bali and I wish I could get this shower gel in Australia because it smells absolutely amazing! It has such a fresh fruit fragrance and lathers up so nicely and I was so sad when I used this up. If I could find this I would definitely repurchase it.

Arbonne It’s a Long Story Mascara –

This mascara has ingredients in it that are designed to help make your lashes grow and is one of Arbonne’s best sellers. When I first got this mascara I hated it, I found it clumpy and it didn’t do much for my lashes. I didn’t use it regularly enough to see if it had any lash growing benefits to it.

It has a flexible rubber bristled wand and after about six months of having this mascara opened (about when I should have tossed it) I pulled it back out again and found I really liked the formula now. It didn’t do anything drastic length or volume wise but was great for separating and made a nice basic everyday mascara. It was so weird that the formula was the opposite six months later to when I first opened it, I mean I know as mascaras dry out they change but such a dramatic change was shocking. It has now been opened for way too long so I think it is time to put this one to rest as I usually don’t like to keep my mascaras longer than three months as bacteria builds up in the tube. I would maybe repurchase this one again but it is extremely expensive.
